🥾 Benchwarming This Weekend

A new bench and solar-powered light have been installed along the Sand Creek Trail, offering a welcoming space for rest and connection just in time for spring. The project was made possible through a collaboration between local organizations, city partners and youth leaders from the RISE Southeast Youth Advisory Council, who helped identify the need for improved seating and lighting along the trail.

To celebrate this addition, the community is invited to a “benchwarming” event on Sunday, March 22 from 1:00–2:30pm near S Murray and Chelton, highlighting the impact of youth leadership and the power of community partnerships in shaping shared spaces. Go for a hike along Sand Creek Trail and then stop by the celebration.

Location: Sand Creek Trail near S Murray & Chelton (behind the Cottages of Sand Creek neighborhood)
