🍕 Watch This Heartfelt Moment Bridge Past and Future
In a ceremony equal parts humor and heart, Richard Skorman formally passed his legacy to new owner Joe Cole with an unexpected symbol of authority.
This playful moment perfectly captures the spirit of this transition as Joe and Sarah Gibeau-Cole take over Poor Richard's after 51 years under Skorman and Patricia Seator's leadership.
The new owners promise to preserve everything locals love about this downtown institution while honoring its rich history as a community gathering space.
Watch the ceremonial handover in the video above, and mark your calendars for the official celebration on May 3rd, where both past and present owners will welcome this next chapter together.

🚘 Over 460 Local Drivers Must Retest After Colorado Springs Driving School Fraud!
The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles has immediately suspended the testing certificate for the Academy School of Driving (ASD) in Colorado Springs following a fraud investigation that uncovered systemic cheating and the fallout is serious.
Investigators found that external "coordinators" were physically marking answers for applicants during written tests. Behind-the-wheel tests that are required to be at least 15 minutes were being cut to as little as 2–4 minutes. On top of that, the school was charging customers $550–$600 for "guaranteed results" and was manipulating the DMV's appointment system to lock up slots. The fraud was found to have been going on since at least March 2025.
460 individuals have been notified that their licenses may be cancelled, and those who received fraudulent services have 60 days to retest at a different, legitimate school. If you or someone you know got licensed through ASD in the past year, it's worth checking the DMV's information page.
