What do you call road construction workers who finish on time?
👉A myth 🤣

🚧 El Paso County Just Made It Easier to Navigate Construction Season
Spring is here, and that means construction season is officially underway across El Paso County. The county maintains more than 2,400 lane miles of paved roads and right now, crews are busy with paving, drainage improvements, and capital projects that can cause temporary delays. The good news? El Paso County has a new interactive tool to help you plan around it all: the Cone Zone Map.
The GIS-based map shows active county construction projects, active permits for roadway work, and planned paving and preservation projects…past, present, and future. It's updated in real time as projects move into active phases. County Engineer Joshua Palmer says the tool is designed to help residents understand not just where work is happening, but why. There's also a compelling financial reason behind the effort: every $1 spent on road maintenance today saves $6 to $10 in future reconstruction costs.
Before you head out, it's worth bookmarking. The map is free, public, and lives on the county's website.
🔥 Pets, Panic and Evacuations

A fast-moving wildfire near Hanover (Southeast El Paso County) forced evacuations yesterday evening as families worked quickly to get to safety.
The Hammer Fire had grown to thousands of acres, prompting evacuation orders and pre-evacuation warnings in parts of eastern El Paso County. Residents were seen leaving with pets, livestock, belongings, and whatever they could gather in a short amount of time.
Even in the uncertainty, neighbors stepped up to help one another, checking on animals, offering assistance, and showing the kind of community spirit that often shines brightest in difficult moments. Full Story

🎭 Local Teen Bound for NYU Tisch After Starring in Mean Girls Musical - See Him Tonight for FREE

Colorado Springs School senior Tristan Kumar is heading to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, one of the most competitive performing arts programs in the country, right behind Juilliard. And before he goes, he's playing Aaron Samuels in the school's production of Mean Girls: The Musical, running tonight through Sat at the Louisa Performing Arts Center at 21 Broadmoor Ave.
The show is FREE and open to all ages, no ticket required. Theater director says: "Everyone who's had that feeling of being an outsider looking in, or being an insider trying to keep your group of friends, can relate." The 14-student cast has been working with a vocal coach and choir teacher for months to put together a full-scale musical experience complete with major dance numbers and tap sequences.
For Kumar, the show is both a celebration and a send-off. Don't miss a chance to see this talented young man before he heads to the big city!
