The City Greenhouse at 1003 Glen Ave is opening its gates for its annual surplus plant sale starts today through Sat. You'll find a great selection of greenhouse-grown native plants including purple coneflower, Rocky Mountain penstemon, blue flax, blanket flower, and more, with a suggested donation of just $9 per one-gallon plant. Digital payments accepted; cash change will not be available. Demand is expected to be high, so plan to arrive early!

The Colorado Springs Planning Commission has approved a major rezoning plan for more than 1,100 acres of open land in Banning Lewis Ranch, paving the way for a mix of homes, townhomes, apartments, and retail between Dublin and Stetson Hills Blvd. The project, developed by Oakwood Homes of Colorado Springs, would push the city's footprint eastward toward Falcon and Peyton and replace a 40-year-old plan that envisioned only high-density residential. The rezoning now heads to City Council for final consideration. Full Story
