If you're looking to rent in Colorado Springs, the market just moved to your side. UCCS economist Joe Craig, director emeritus of the Economic Forum, says Colorado Springs has shifted to a renter's market, with more rental supply than demand. Properties are sitting vacant longer than owners expected, giving renters options they haven't had in years.
The proof is showing up with local companies. Doman Real Estate is now offering rental incentives and concessions to new tenants in the single-family market, something the company says it has never had to do before. For renters, that kind of shift is a signal: the power dynamics have changed.
The move right now is to shop around, negotiate hard, and ask about incentives before signing anything. A month of free rent or waived fees could be on the table. Now is the time to use it. Full Story

As of mid-August 2026, the 30-year fixed mortgage rate sits at 6.77% and the 15-year fixed at 5.95%, with the Federal Reserve pausing rate cuts in the near term. Major forecasters project only modest easing by year-end.
