🏘️ A Win for Affordable Housing

A Win for Affordable Housing

Colorado is taking another meaningful step toward easing the housing crunch. State leaders, including Jared Polis, announced five new housing developments selected for voter-approved Proposition 123 Equity funding, bringing more affordable rental options to communities like Colorado Springs, Denver, Longmont, Pueblo, and Grand Junction. More than $52M has been preliminarily approved to support projects serving households earning between 30% and 120% of the area median income, with construction expected to begin in 2026.

Locally, the Bristow House project in Colorado Springs will deliver 185 all-electric apartments designed with intergenerational living in mind. Many of the developments emphasize walkability, sustainability, and proximity to jobs and transit, while a new Tenant Equity Vehicle launching in 2026 will help renters build savings for future goals like down payments. Together, these projects reflect a growing effort to create housing stability while keeping communities livable and connected. *Source

πŸ“‰ Mortgage Rates Dip as Year Wraps Up

Mortgage Application

Mortgage rates dropped lower last week, with the average 30-year fixed rate settling around 6.19% and 15-year loans dipping into the mid-5% range. This easing trend offers a bit of breathing room for buyers and homeowners watching the market closely. Experts say rates are likely to stay relatively steady through the rest of the year, with any meaningful declines more likely in 2026 if inflation continues to cool and the Federal Reserve eases policy further.

For now, those considering a move, refinance, or long-term planning may want to compare options and stay flexible rather than waiting for a dramatic drop. *Read Source
