🤨 "I Was Skeptical Too" - Kathy's Surprising Story

🐴 How one unexpected moment changed her approach to wellness

There is a specific desperation a mother feels when her child suffers. For Kathy Maguire, that moment came decades ago when her toddler experienced a severe reaction to routine vaccinations. That terrifying ordeal sent this Colorado Springs native on a relentless, 40-year quest for natural ways to protect and heal the people she loved.

Raised in the quiet beauty of Black Forest, Kathy has always possessed a fiercely compassionate spirit. As an ESL teacher, she helped refugee children speaking over 50 languages find their voice in a new world. Kathy has always been a protector, a listener and a guide for those who felt lost.

But even protectors get tired. After decades of navigating complex supplement routines, Kathy was exhausted. Though relatively healthy, she was beginning to experience creeping, age-related ailments society tells us to simply accept. Kathy refused to surrender to this narrative.

Then, a breakthrough came through her beloved horse, Cody. Kathy applied LifeWave, a non-invasive wellness patch designed for humans that uses reflected light to reactivate dormant stem cells. She witnessed remarkable improvement in his painful ulcers.

Knowing animals do not experience the placebo effect, she tried the technology herself and soon noticed her own chronic sleep struggles faded, her blood sugar stabilized, and distracting vision floaters diminished.

One young woman sought help for stubborn shoulder discomfort; as her shoulder improved, she realized the patches were unexpectedly lifting her from an emotional darkness she hadn't even recognized. Hearing from seniors weeping tears of joy as they regain their independence, Kathy offers a safe, pressure-free space to explore natural support.

Sometimes, the body just needs a little light to find its way back.

Editor's Note: After my interview with Kathy for this piece, I plan to try LifeWave myself in the near future. I believe in personally experiencing what I write about, and I'm genuinely curious if this might address some of my own persistent health challenges. I'll share my 90-day journey with you when I begin because sometimes the most meaningful evidence is our own.

🎡 El Paso County Marks History

April is National County Government Month, and El Paso County is using it as a chance to give residents a closer look at the many services, programs and people working behind the scenes to keep daily life moving.

This year’s recognition also ties into two major milestones: America’s 250th anniversary and Colorado’s 150th birthday. Throughout the month, the County plans to highlight everything from public safety and infrastructure to family resources, education and community engagement.

Residents can also take part through a new “Moments That Made Us” campaign, which invites people to share photos and stories that reflect meaningful experiences, traditions and milestones in their lives. Some of those submissions may even be featured later this summer at the El Paso County Fair.

It’s a reminder that local government isn’t just about meetings and paperwork, it touches a lot more of everyday life than many people realize.

🔥 The Next Wildfire Is Coming

Colorado Springs leaders are encouraging residents to take wildfire preparedness seriously this year as dry conditions, warmer temperatures and an unusually high number of Red Flag Warnings continue to raise concern across the region. While the city and county have made major investments in wildfire mitigation, emergency coordination, faster response systems and stronger building standards in recent years, officials say personal preparedness is still one of the most important pieces of protection.

Through the city’s Ready, Set, Go campaign, residents are being urged to sign up for emergency alerts, prepare go-bags, make family communication and evacuation plans, and think ahead about how they would respond if a fire moved into the area. In a community that has already lived through devastating fires, the message is simple: being prepared before an emergency can make all the difference.

✈️ Strange Flights Over the Springs

The sight of two unique military planes circling Colorado Springs captured local attention and fueled social media speculation. Officials confirmed one aircraft, known as the "Doomsday" plane, was on a routine training mission, while a separate electronic attack jet also operated in the area. The flights were standard operations, though their coordinated presence overhead made for an unusual spectacle for residents. Full Story
