💔 A Community Hub Is Closing

Seven local nonprofits in Colorado Springs are now searching for new office space after learning they’ll need to leave the city-owned Boulder Street buildings they’ve shared for years. The space, often referred to as the “Sustainacenter,” has served as a collaborative home for groups including Hey Neighbor, Kids on Bikes, Concrete Couch, Trails and Open Space Coalition, Fountain Creek Watershed District, Colorado Native Plant Society, and the Mid Shooks Run Community Garden.

For these organizations, the affordable shared setup has helped stretch limited budgets while also creating day-to-day opportunities for collaboration, volunteer coordination and community-focused projects. With the city planning to sell the properties as part of broader budget priorities, the groups now have until June 30 to find a new place where they can hopefully continue working together. Full Story

If you know of available office space… if you own a building… if you can connect them with someone who can helpnow is the time.

🍨 Restaurant Local Favorites: Pass or Problem?

Every week, El Paso County Public Health releases inspection reports for local restaurants. Most businesses pass with few issues, but occasionally a location requires a follow-up visit to correct food safety concerns.

🥾 A Sweet Spot to Get Outside

If you’ve been looking for a simple excuse to get outside and enjoy one of these beautiful warm days, John Venezia Community Park is a great place to do it. With wide walking paths, open views and plenty of room to spread out, it’s the kind of park that makes it easy to move your body without it feeling like a chore.

And if you’re already thinking ahead to spring and summer gatherings, there’s another helpful update: several of the park’s pavilion-style spaces can now be reserved online, making it a little easier to plan birthdays, family get-togethers or casual outdoor meetups.

Between the walking loops, playgrounds, spray ground, pickleball courts, sports fields and picnic areas, this is one of those parks that really does have a little something for just about everyone.
