Rocky Mountain Youth Leadership Foundation Gala with Our Colorado Springs Town Tidings Family!
I tried to herd as many of our Town Tidings family together as I could for a photo at the gala last night (we missed a few of you!), and just look at this amazing group.
Getting to hug so many of you, meet your loved ones, and watch you all spark new connections with each other was the absolute highlight of my night. This is what building a local community is all about. Thank you for showing up. Iβll be sharing a full recap soon, but for now, I just wanted to send my love and gratitude. π€

π΅ Why Seniors Light Up When He Walks In
π₯° What happens next will move you
The door closes, the house feels quiet, and you find yourself watching a parent or spouse hesitate before getting out of their favorite chair. They haven't had a fall. They aren't in physical therapy. But you can see their world starting to shrink, and the fear of what might happen tomorrow is quietly dictating how they live today.
Kristen Nielsen, founder of TogetherWON, knows we don't have to wait for a crisis to reclaim our freedom. Her Body, Brain, and Balance training helps seniors get ahead of decline before a single fall ever happens. If you've been catching her quick wellness tips every other Monday right here in Town Tidings, you already know her magic. It's the same proactive strength that helped her client Carol start running at 69 and crush a less than 10-minute mile at the Senior Games this past summer.
And Carol's story is exactly why Kristen's newest team member is so special.
Meet 20-year-old Alex Oliver, Carol's grandson. While most young adults his age are focused on their own path, Alex has anchored his life in honoring our seniors. He is a competitive powerlifter, but his real strength is his patience.
When Alex walks into local assisted living and memory care facilities, the room transforms. He doesn't just lead exercises; he builds connection. Residents who usually sit in isolated bubbles are suddenly laughing, passing soccer balls, and shouting out US presidents mid-workout. And when he noticed some of his seniors were more comfortable in Spanish, Alex started learning the language himself so no one in his class would ever feel left out. Even when cognitive memory struggles, he uses visual cues and gentle redirection to unlock deep muscle memory. The body responds, and the heart remembers the joy.
Together, Kristen and Alex are proving that staying strong is a shared adventure, not a solo one.
To book a free in-home consultation and balance assessment, visit TogetherWON.com, call 719-286-9450, or email [email protected].
